Terms and Conditions

1. About Therapeia Counselling

Therapeia Counselling is run by Mel Christodoulou, a counsellor in private practice offering therapeutic support to young people and adults. My work is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework and my commitment to integrity, safety and respect.

2. Using this website

This website is designed to provide general information about me and my counselling services. Reading it or contacting me through the site does not mean that a counselling relationship has begun. A therapeutic agreement will only be in place once we have both agreed to work together and confirmed this in writing.

3. Confidentiality and privacy

Anything shared within counselling sessions is treated as confidential. There are, however, some legal and ethical limits to confidentiality. For example, if there is serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or if I am required by law to share information.
I will always aim to discuss this with you before taking any action.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and comply with UK data protection (GDPR). Any personal information you share is stored securely and used only for the purpose of providing counselling or responding to your enquiry.

4. Appointments and cancellations

Sessions are arranged by mutual agreement. If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please give as much notice as possible, ideally at least 24 hours. Missed or late-cancelled sessions may be charged at the full fee unless there are exceptional circumstances.

5. Fees and payment

Session fees and payment arrangements will be discussed and agreed before we begin working together.

6. Website content and links

All content on this site is for general information only. While I aim to keep it accurate and up to date, I cannot guarantee this. Any external links are provided for your convenience, I have no responsibility for their content.
